Some testimonials from our guests...

The watercolour to the right was painted by Michel, a former guest in August 2007, his quote below:

"In memory of your nice Shetlands isles, a watercolour of a young harbour seal sketched on Burra. The legend is: please, don't disturb!"

France, August 2007.

The long weekend would have already been a success if we spotted just one otter and one seal.......and we got our otter, plenty of seals. Excellent weather (Given the low expectation) and some marvellous scenery.
On top of that 'Nilmurhaa' was a great place to call home every night. We will definitely let everyone in Aberdeen know how much we enjoyed it.

Aberdeen, September 2007.

Our first visit to Shetland has been a memorable one – mild weather stunning marine scenery and a very comfortable base to explore from provided by Ann.
This is a perfect base to cover the islands – from Sumburgh to Saxa Vord. After more than 500 miles on Shetland’s excellent roads and meeting so many friendly people, we’ll be back. Despite Shetland’s powerful winds the cottage left us smug, comfortable and warm – a credit to Ann and Chris. Thanks.

P.S. Thanks for Da Simmer Dim and great bread!

Forres. Moray. September 2007.

The house is very comfortable and well equipped. Thank you for all the little extras. We had a week of reasonable weather and did many walks on mainland, Yell and Unst. We enjoyed the beaches, flowers and birds and particularly enjoyed watching the otters. We saw otter(s) every day in the bay outside the house and on several occasions watched up to 5 cavorting around in a bay a little way down the coast. Thanks for a great holiday.

East Lothian. August/September 2007.

Shetland is shining!   We have had a great week of bird watching, walking and driving around the Islands. We especially liked St Ninian’s, Noss seeing Muckle Flugga, Mousa and a tiny place called Nibon on our way back from Eshaness. The weather was ok with one simply perfect day of blue sky and stillness – that was fabulous. Thanks for a lovely place to stay and for being so kind and helpful.

Durham, August 2007.

Enjoyed our stay despite bad weather (It rained a lot!).  The scenery is spectacular and worth the long journeys the west coast was fab but raining all the way.  Bressay was a great place for walking and bird watching. Sumburgh Head was even more impressive weather good too!

Seals basking on the beach just up the road from the house were a great unexpected delight!

The highlight was walking on Unst to Muckle Flugga to see fantastic cliffs and birds.  Peace and tranquility in your lovely accommodation and your thoughtfulness regarding ‘little’ things that your guests may need was noticed. It is a great place to stay relax and unwind. We will try to return, maybe when we retire!
Many thanks.

Staffordshire, August 2007.
